Uniquity

“The Declaration of You will be published by North Light Craft Books this summer, with readers getting all the permission they’ve craved to step passionately into their lives, discover how they and their gifts are unique and uncover what they are meant to do! This post is part of The Declaration of You’s Blog Lovin’ Tour, which I’m thrilled to participate in alongside over 100 other creative bloggers.

This week is about uniqueness

What makes me unique?

It’s my dual nature.  I’m conservative and quiet when first we meet, but I’ll guffaw at your terrible puns when I get to know you better.

Some days my favorite outfit is black and white with a just a dash of color and other days I can be seen wearing tye-dye or big flowery prints or some bling and glitter.

I was a very young mother, having my first child at 17; and an old mother,  having my last child at 44.

I love to knit, crochet, draw, make jewelry, and really just dabble in all kinds of crafts.

I love country music, pop music, and rap music (especially Emimen), Elvis, the Beatles , Aerosmith, and Dolly Parton.

I love to read mysteries and histories, dramas and biographies and books by comedians.

I like all kinds of animals, especially cats and Chihuahuas, but I also

grew amazingly fond of a guinea pig one of my children had.

I like the cool crispness of Fall with it’s colors and scents but I also enjoy Spring with it’s warmth and flowers.

In short, I think the world is a fascinating place with all kinds of wonderful things to see and experience.  I tried to teach my children to follow their passion and enjoy the world.  Don’t let the fear of looking foolish or not knowing how to do something hold you back from participating.

I dance when I can, and burst into silly songs for my grandsons when asked.

What makes you unique?  I’d love to hear.

  1. I've never been afraid to follow the beat of my own drummer. I took a lot of crap for it in high school b/c I didn't care about fitting in so I got teased a lot. My house is decorated like an oversized dorm room. I wear tie dyes all the time. I couldn't care less about clothes, shoes or hairstyles.
