Mandalas


This week I’ve been working on mandalas.   I’m still studying colors.  I even bought a color wheel from AC Moore.  It was for painters but I found it helps with yarn too.
 
I found this fabulous website called ,A Creative Being, and she crochets a mandala a week.   It’s a fantastic study in color.  There’s a free pattern on the site for her basic  mandala.  I also bought her pattern for the  “I love Holland crochet Mandala.”  This pattern can be found on Ravelry.

 


This is one of the ones I made.  It’s so simple to do but so pretty.  I made another one in red, white and blue.  And I started a third one with red and yellow tulips  I made them in Sugar n Cream 100% cotton yarn.  I think they make pretty hot pads.  Or maybe placemats.

    crocheting mandalas? well that is something I never thought of.

    I struggle with colours sometimes too and I've been doing colouring books for years, most of which are mandala designs. They've been very helpful with my colour block.

      I have a wonderful Mandala coloring book I used to work in. I'll have to look for it again and practice some of my new stuff

    Absolutely lovely! I started one of Wink's mandalas but haven't gotten back to it because I'm busy making Christmas presents. That is so beautiful. Nice job!
